So now the economic recovery has been in full swing for almost a quarter I was shocked to hear that GM failed to find a buyer for their Saab division. They could not find a buyer even at the minuscule price point of $1. Just goes to show that maybe the recovery is not quite as robust (if it is happening at all?) as people would have us believe.
At this stage I’d expect Warren Buffet to step in and pick up the pieces of this broken business. I put a call into his office to see if he had any intention of buying this distressed car maker, but his secretary said he was too busy trying to making 20,000 truckers unemployed by his purchase and promotion of the Burlington Northern (BNI.N) railroad, all under the pretense of being ‘green’. Cut the nonsense Warren, we all know the only green you care about is the green in your pocket. Those truckers’ families don’t care about the tonnes per gallon your rail cars can transport (and how great it is for your bottom line), when they are hungry and panhandling (hopefully in your hometown) on the streets of America. And the mainstream press champion this guy as a true American patriot.
In other news, I have been quite busy of late with family commitments, having received both my parents followed by my Sidewalker-in-law at Castle Sidewalker. It has been great having them all visit, but it has curtailed my blogging somewhat. Oh and one last thing, yes I do know I need to update my Cash Trail Map!
