Shopping with Sidewalker #5

by Luke Sidewalker on December 16, 2009

Shopping with SidewalkerMy Shopping with Sidewalker feature this month may be a day late, but as you can see from the total below, it is not a dollar short. In stark contrast to the words of Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke telling all that will listen that inflation is a non-existent threat, my grocery bill has gone up for the second month in a row. Month over a month I have seen just over a 1% increase. Just prove to Mr. Bernanke that he is not the only one who can be a smart arse with numbers, that equates to an annualized rate of inflation at just over 12%. Stick that in your non-inflationary pipe and smoke it Mr. Bernanke…

I was reading a post here and then all the sudden the screen changed and it went to an entirely different post. That was freaky.

I apologize. I do hope at least the new story was at least a little interesting!

And just what would the rate of inflation be if you used the real increase? Your total this time is $2.18 more (not $1.18) so that’s almost twice as bad as you thought it was. Dueling calculators in aisle 3? Meet you there! (Go ahead, check my math. I checked it twice myself. lol)
